ABOUT
Kerri L. Kutlenios, CPA
As a resident of the Phoenix area since 1999, I have spent my accounting career working with a variety of closely held businesses, including manufacturing, distribution, retail, professional service, and franchise industries. I assisted these businesses with their year-end audited, reviewed, and compiled financial statements for third parties, performed income tax planning and preparation for several business and individual clients, and also was a resource for clients during the year for various accounting and consulting projects. I understand the importance of providing timely and reliable support for clients, and have prided myself on being an ally to the growth and prosperity of the locally owned businesses I have served. The client and associate relationships I have built and maintained over the last twenty years have been the highlight of my accounting career.
I have also had the privilege of working as the controller of an international restaurant franchisor. It was a pleasure to assist the company with their significant growth from six locations to over 90 locations in the U.S. and Canada. I also gained invaluable experience "on the other side of the desk", experiencing the day to day challenges of entrepreneurs in the current economic climate.
Prior to moving to Arizona, I spent three years at a local accounting firm in Michigan, performing financial, income tax, and controllership assistance to mainly manufacturing and engineering industry clients. I graduated from Michigan State University in 1996 with a BA in Accounting, and am proud to bleed green and white!
I am a Certified QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor, and have assisted several clients both with transition to and support with QuickBooks Online.
ACCOUNTING & CONTROLLERSHIP FUNCTIONS
Includes performing and assisting client staff with weekly or monthly accounting functions, preparation of monthly closings monthly financial statements, support with required third party financial requests for financing or bonding needs, maintenance of fixed asset depreciation, performing monthly cash flow statements, and preparation and maintenance of departmental and company-wide operating budgets.
CONSULTING ENGAGEMENTS
Includes acting in an interim controller capacity, performing lease vs. buy analysis for significant equipment acquisitions, setting up fixed assets on depreciation software and training of staff to maintain, review your current accounting system for possible cost-effective improvements to internal controls, calculate GAAP required treatment of equipment leases as operating or capital, and assisting staff with preparation of streamlined monthly and year end closing process and standard journal entry templates.
FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
Includes preparation of specific schedules necessary for your CPA firm’s use, GAAP basis financial statement and required footnotes (other bases of financial statements can also be provided), coordination of year-end fieldwork with your CPA firm, and continued support during the engagement with CPA firm personnel and your employees.
INCOME TAX PREPARATION
Includes performing and assisting client staff with year-end closing and posting of adjustments to your general ledger, providing schedules to your CPA firm that are specific to the tax return preparation, and continued support during the tax return preparation process with CPA firm personnel and your employees.
